Season Conductor - Mr. Hulber Gagliardini

A tremendous talent when he plays the trumpet, Hulber Gagliardini is also a gifted conductor with a strong rehearsal technique. A Masters Degree in Music from Northwestern University set the stage for performances all over the world as Musical Director of bands on board Princess Cruises and Cunard Cruise Lines. It was while performing that he met his lovely wife, Suzanne, who agreed to “set foot on all seven continents” before returning to his hometown in the Keys. Mr. Gagliardini has been the director of bands at Miami Southridge High School and Miami Arts Charter School in Homestead.




Concertmaster - Ms. Susan Bazin

Susan Bazin

Professional flautist, Susan Bazin, is Band Director at Key Largo Middle School.  She is former chairman of Florida Bandmaster Association District 20.  Honors include Inclusion Teacher of the Year 2003, DCPS Superintendent Award 2004, Kaizen Award 2005, FMEA Music Enrollment Award 2008 and 2013, KLS Teacher of the Year 2009, VFW Teacher of the Year 2011, Grant Memorial Straight Superior Concert MPA 2012, 2013 and 2014 and, most recently, inducted into the American School Band Directors Association.  After a rigorous orchestral performing career throughout South Florida, she relocated to the Keys twenty years ago and enjoys the lifestyle and culture of this beautiful area.





Conductor At Large - Mr. Robert Sax

A talented jazz pianist, Robert Sax, is former KCCB Season Conductor and is currently on sabbatical in Beijing, China!  Here at home, his bands have repeatedly earned straight superior ratings at Florida Bandmaster Association Marching, Concert Band and Solo/Ensemble Music Performance Assessment Festivals.  Now that he is abroad, his musical magic is inspiring students at the Beijing National School.  Mr. Sax is a graduate of Berkley School of Music with a Bachelor of Music in Performance Jazz Piano.  He received a Masters Degree from the American Band College in 2014.
